MLK Day 2013- North End Detroit Service Project

Hosted by

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the MLK Day 2013 North End Neighborhood Service Project is going to clean and board up 13 dangerous, vacant properties near the Detroit International Academy for Young Women located on Woodward. A cleanup effort on the blocks will also take place. We want to make the area safer for students and residents walking and biking in the area. The houses to be boarded up are located on Kenilworth Street and Owen Street.

We need all the help we can get. The street has seen better days but together we can make a big difference. All are welcome at this event. So bring a friend, a family member, a neighbor or a stranger. We need to come together to create positive change in our community.

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" -Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The location for the service event will be the neighborhood streets directly surrounding the Detroit International Academy for Young Women located at 9026 Woodward, Detroit, MI 48202.

A morning kick-off will take place at 9am at 64 Kenilworth Street, Detroit, MI 48202. Lunch and T-shirts (as available) will be provided.

We just need YOU to make this event a success. Please RSVP.
